Becka and the Big Bubble - Becka Goes to the North PoleBecka and the Big Bubble – Becka Goes to the North Pole!
Written by Gretchen Schomer Wendel and Adam Anthony Schomer

From the Preschool Book

“Becka closed her eyes and imagined what to do
She blew and blew and blew and blew
On top of the bubble, an adventurous soul
There she goes, off to the North Pole.”

About the Preschool Book

Once again, Becka blows her big bubble and takes flight! This time all the way to the North Pole where she meets Santa and Mrs. Claus and the elves busily working in the toy workshop, playing and dancing, and preparing for Christmas. Captivating rhymes and colorful full-page illustrations invite us into Becka’s world as we share in her adventurous flight to the most wondrous and imaginative place on earth – the North Pole!

From the Reviewer - Joanna Young

The North Pole forever remains a magical, mystical place in the imaginations of preschoolers and adults alike. To be able to visit this winter wonderland is an adventure most adults and children can only dream of, but with Becka and the Big Bubble, no place is beyond reach! Imagination comes alive as we join Becka and her big bubble as she floats all the way to a land of shimmery snow, flying reindeer and of course, Santa Claus!

The North Pole!

Dark blue hues of the night sky, twinkling stars, wintry white snow and the glorious reds and golds of Christmas cover the pages of this preschool book as we join Becka in her fabulous flight to the North Pole. Along the way, we meet Arctic polar bears, a reindeer in flight (complete with glowing nose and jingle bells collar) and a smiling snowman waiting to direct the way to Santa’s castle.

On the horizon, beyond colorful Christmas trees and a river made of milk and cookies, we see Santa’s castle and workshop, glistening in the snow “as if powdered sugar was sprinkled on top.”

Mrs. Claus greets Becka at the front door, inviting us in to tour Santa’s castle. “I am here, Yippidi-Yoo!” Becka exclaims, “In Santa’s castle, Woo-Whoo Woo-Whoo!” Then through hallways decorated like a big candy cane, we visit Santa’s elves, busy at work and singing a playful little tune. Caught up in the whirlwind of festive activity, Becka turns around suddenly and runs into none other than…

Santa Claus!

Towering above her is the fat jolly old Santa Claus, book in hand listing all the nice kids of the land. Santa confirms that Becka has indeed been “brilliant” and offers a lesson in giving that we can all share with our preschoolers. “To gift is a gift, so give from your heart. This you have learned. It’s time you depart.”

And, with this memorable occasion coming to an end, Becka hops on top of her big bubble and waves goodbye to Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves as she makes her way back home to Mom and Dad. “Pippity-pop! With the flick of her nail, to the ground she sailed. What a day it had been!”
